Adventure Safety Gear
Birdie Personal Safety Alarm with siren + strobe light on Amazon.
5/5 stars for this one! I feel SO much more confident & comfortable carrying this around with me, AND it’s TSA-approved! (full review coming soon)
Anvil 4-digit Luggage lock on Amazon.
TSA-Approved Padlock with hardened steel shackle. Plus, TSA agents have to re-lock your luggage in order to get their master key out of the lock, so you can relax knowing your luggage will stay locked even if inspected by security.
Travel Basics
Energizer Power Bank on Amazon.
An iPhone can get about 5 FULL charges from this! TSA-approved high-capacity, portable charger with dual USB outputs, compatible with iPhone, Samsung, Tablets and more!
*Probably a bit too heavy for backpackers, fine for hut trips & other travel, though!
I’m a huge fan of Dr. Bronner’s Castile Soap, but especially for travel. 100% organic, plant-based, biodegradable & vegan!
You only need a few drops (diluted in water) to cleanse your whole body, wash your hair, or clean your clothes. A must-have for sustainable travel (plus, it lowers the # of products to pack). I like the peppermint scent as it helps as a bug deterrent!
My Camera gear
Canon R6 (body only) on Amazon.
I recently made the big upgrade to this camera and it has been nothing but incredible so far! I’ll be writing a more thorough review once I’ve had at least 6 months to test it out.
This Canon 24-70mm f2.8 lens has been hands down my favorite lens I’ve ever purchased.
The crisp, cinematic quality is exceptional. It’s only downside is that it’s a bit too heavy for carry-on only travel.
The peak design capture clip is probably the best investment I’ve made in my camera gear.
If you pull your camera out of your bag every other minute on hikes or travel, this is well worth it. This has been a game changer for me!
Polarizer Filter from K&F (on amazon).
Polarizer filters are a great idea if you often photograph landscapes and cities. Polarizers allow you to correctly expose most of the image in one shot. *make sure you get the right size for your lens*
The Zomei carbon fiber travel tripod has been a GAMECHANGER for me!
It’s quite lightweight & packable, making it easy for me to bring it on all my hikes & adventures. Despite how light it is, it still feels sturdy & holds my heaviest lens really well. It’s no Peak Design carbon tripod, but it’s an excellent, more affordable option!
I’ve recently added the 50mm 1.8 Canon prime lens to my lineup.
I’ve only had it a little over two months but I’ve quickly come to see why this is such a classic ‘must-have’ lens in any photographers lineup. It’s got a lot of potential, and not just for portraits!
Outdoor Apparel
These Ridgeway hikers from Xero Shoes are easily the best hiking shoes I’ve owned.
They’re barefoot style, so my feet & legs never ache after long hikes, but they’ve got the look of a classic hiking shoe!
The Z-trek sandals from Xero Shoes are perfect for those looking to travel as light as possible.
These shoes are incredibly lightweight and even roll up to save space. I trekked through mud, beach, rivers, slippery rocks & more in these!
I love my Grayl filtered water bottle! I literally take it with me everywhere.
I can taste even the slightest difference in my water, and this filter made all my water taste great. I love that I can add my liquid supplements or electrolyte packs to it as well! Only downside – It’s a bit thick so it doesn’t fit in a lot of backpack waterbottle holders.
